7th grade Social Studies students studied pollution in the Ganges River by participating in a river simulation. Students rotated between stations where the read about cities along the Ganges and the type of pollutants they contributed to the pollution found in the river. Students added food coloring to represent industrial/agricultural pollutants, coffee grounds to simulate sewage, sprinkles to represent garbage/plastics, & teddy grams to represent the religious burial practices. Students made observations during and after the simulation making note of how the pollutants effect the condition of the river. #WeAreRHMS
