Miss Kirk’s ELA STEM classes got to analyze and dissect a deer heart while Mr. Soash explained how the heart operates and pumps blood throughout the body. Earlier last week, students read Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart” in which the narrator is convinced he hears a dead man’s heart beating. The heart dissection helped students visualize and understand that the narrator was actually hearing his own heart beat, revealing his insanity and unreliability as a narrator. How cool is that for a lesson?!?! Way to go Ms. Kirk! #WeAreRHMS
