Proportional Reasoning in 7th Grade Math

Ms. Hackney's 7th Grade Math Students are studying proportions using information about sharks. Since shark skeletons are made out of cartilage instead of bone, we don’t have megalodon skeletons to study. To determine the approximate length of the extinct megalodon, students used information about great white sharks, the closest relative to the megalodon, and proportional reasoning. Pictured are students demonstrating the approximate length of a megalodon, about 19 meters. #WeAreRHMS
